Design blog update
June 4, 2009
Another update on how my design blog is going. I tried to change the permalinks to the blue colour that is the background and the header image but Geoff and I couldn’t find the right place to change the colour, so I scrapped that idea. Also I was planning to put links under the banner image (to different categories and pages) but tumblr doesn’t have categories or pages so I couldn’t do that idea.
So in the final tute I made a background image in Photoshop and chucked it in the blog theme but I’m having a few problems getting the quality right. Since it’s a gradient image there are noticeable chunks where the colour changes and I’m not really sure how to fix it.
Blog design update
May 28, 2009
I started my blog design theme in todays tute. I created the header graphic, it’s pretty basic but I think it looks good. Going to try and base the colour scheme around that bluey colour and also black. Also plan to get rid of the white borders around the whole container div and fiddle around with the background colours.
Blog theme design
May 28, 2009
I am going to base my blog design on a couple of wordpress themes; the one that I have for my real blog and this one:

I plan to combine the two together and obviously muck around with the colours, fonts and graphics.
Importing problems
May 21, 2009
I’ve come across a problem trying to import my wordpress blog posts into a blogger or tumble blog. Unfortunately you can only import posts that are from the same type of blog eg. wordpress to wordpress, tumblr to tumblr, blogger to blogger etc. I’m trying to find a way around this but it looks like I’ll have to copy and paste everything over, which will be a pain in the arse.
Website update
May 7, 2009
Just a quick update on how my website is going. The design is going pretty much to plan, though I have scrapped a couple of little details; in particular the gradients behind the set times and ticket prices columns. I think I will chuck the google map under the lineup picture to fill the empty space up. So far, so good and to completely finish the project I just have to fiddle around with the nav bar (getting the spacing right), throw in a sub-page somewhere, a page fragment, external links, the file download, the search bar and the youtube video. Sounds like a lot but she’ll be apples.

This CSS cheat sheet will be a handy resource if I get stuck or am a bit unsure about any of the properties.
Week 6 Tute
April 2, 2009
During this lecture Teresa taught us the basics of CSS. The basic concept is easy enough but remembering all the attributes will be the hardest thing. Ive done a little CSS before so I should be alright with it but this should be really useful for me in the coming weeks. I started doing the HTML part of my website, fiddling around with the content and formatting it the right way etc. Ive done 3 of the 4 Stonefest pages so far.
Design draft feedback
March 26, 2009
I received feedback in the tutorial today from Teresa about what I need to do to improve my design draft. First, I need to make the logo stand out more. It doesnt necessarily have to be a picture, even if its just a different font from the others, or even one or two letters that are different from the rest of the them. Secondly I need to make the band list on the right into a picture or even a photo. I deliberately didnt make this into a picture because I am horrible at making images and that is something I’ll have to work on. Last but not least is the gradient boxes for the news and feature band boxes. I wanted to put a white border around them however I didnt know how to at the time, but Teresa showed me and its not a very hard thing to do. I also need to make the gradients more prominent, I think I’ll change the colours to a shade lighter blue.
By the way these new keyboards are gay
